ヴィスビュー（ヴィスビー）とは
『魔女の宅急便』の舞台モデル地
ヴィスビュー（ヴィスビー）とは、スウェーデンのゴットランド島にある『魔女の宅急便』のモデルになった街です。
中世の街並みが残る世界遺産の観光地で、バルト海に沈む夕日が美しい。
（なお、住宅街のモデルがヴィスビューで、市街地のモデルはストックホルムのガムラスタンです。）
＊「Visby」の日本語表記について
「ヴィスビュー」はスウェーデン語の発音、「ヴィスビー」は英語発音。当サイトでは「ヴィスビー」と表記していましたが、Googleマップの表記に合わせて「ヴィスビュー」に変更しました。
ヴィスビューで夕日を見る最高の場所はアルメダレン公園（および遊歩道）。

ヴォードクロッケガタンは、絶対に行くべきオススメの道。海の眺めが最高！
『魔女の宅急便』の世界に浸ることができる最高の場所は、間違いなくここ。
観光スポットではなく、落ち着いた雰囲気なのも良い。
"Vårdklockegatan" is a recommended path that you should definitely go. The view of the sea is the best!
This is definitely the best place to immerse yourself in the world of Kiki's Delivery Service.
It's not a tourist spot, and has a relaxed atmosphere.
「Vårdklockegatan」の意味
ヴォードクロッケガタン
〜守護の鐘が鳴る小道〜
Vård（ヴォード：守護）+ klocke（クロッケ：鐘）+ gatan（ガタン：通り） という3つの要素で構成されています。
その名の通り、この通りの真下に聖ペテロ教会（S:t Pers ruin 地元スウェーデン人向け）と聖ハンス教会（Sankt Hans kyrkoruin
ドイツ商人向け）という、二つの教会が背中合わせに並んで立っていた珍しい遺跡があります。他に幾つもの教会跡地があり、かつては幾重にも重なる鐘の音がヴォードクロッケガタンへと響き渡っていたのでしょう。
（S:t Pers ruinとSankt Hans kyrkoruinの教会遺跡は現在、素敵なカフェになっており散歩の休憩に最適です。）

海辺の遊歩道 / Visby Beach boardwalk
筆者のお気に入りの場所で、遊歩道を歩くのは気持ちがいい。何往復しても飽きない。
This is one of my favorite places, and it feels great to walk along the promenade. I could walk back and forth here countless times and never get bored.
遊歩道は二股に分かれて、２本が並行している。
昼間も夕方も海辺の公園に人が集まる。
The promenade splits into two, with the two paths running parallel to each other.
People gather at the seaside park both during the day and in the evening.
２本の遊歩道のうち、城壁側の道。
Of the two walking paths, this is the one closer to the castle wall.
歩き疲れたらベンチに座って一休みすることができる。
If you get tired of walking, you can sit on a bench and take a rest.
一つ上の写真と同じ場所。日が傾いてくると一味変わった光景になり、夕陽が綺麗。
This is the same location as the photo above. As the sun begins to set, the scenery changes, and the sunset is beautiful.
＊タイトルに「アルメダレン公園の夕日」と書いていますが、正確には「アルメダレン公園の隣にある遊歩道」です。
The title says "Sunset at Almedalen Park," but more accurately, it's "the boardwalk next to Almedalen Park."

Visby Medieval Week
＜中世週間とは＞
スウェーデンのゴットランド島にあるヴィスビュー（ヴィスビー）において、毎年８月上旬に開催される中世のお祭り。街中を中世の衣装を着た人たちが歩き、１４世紀の中世の雰囲気を味わうことができる。
中世の行列、伝統工芸を作る場所での販売、演劇、ファイアフェスティバル、市場(有料)、馬上槍試合(有料)などが開催される。
<About Medieval Week>
This medieval festival is held annually in early August in Visby, on the Swedish island of Gotland. People dressed in medieval costumes parade through the streets, allowing visitors to experience the atmosphere of the 14th century. Events include a medieval procession, a traditional craft shop, theater, a fire festival, a market (fee required), and jousting (fee required).

中世の行列
『魔女の宅急便』に出てくるキキのパン屋の前を中世の格好をした行列が通る。旗の後に騎士たちが通る。その後ろに貴婦人たちが通る。
A procession of people dressed in medieval costumes passes in front of Kiki's bakery, which appears in "Kiki's Delivery Service." The knights pass behind the flag. Ladies pass by behind them.
ヴィスビューには教会の廃墟がいくつもあり、そこを中世行列が練り歩く姿は絵になる。
Visby has many ruined churches, and the sight of medieval marching through them is picturesque.
海辺の催し物
海辺の公園で、中世の衣装を着た人たちが催しをしており、見物人が大勢集まっている。
A crowd of spectators is gathered at a seaside park, where people dressed in medieval costumes are holding an event.
プロではない一般人が催し物をしている。もちろん無料。
The events are run by ordinary people, not professionals. Free of charge, of course.

いろんな人に話を聞いたが、中世の衣装を着ている人たちは９割以上はストックホルムなど他所から来た人たちで、地元民はほとんどいない。

I spoke to many people and found that more than 90% of the people wearing medieval costumes were from other places such as Stockholm, and there were very few locals.
ファイアショーを披露する人たち。これも、もちろん無料。

中世ガイドツアー
中世の衣装を着たツアーガイドが城壁の説明をしてくれる。時間と場所を調べておく必要がある。無料。
集合場所はアルメダレン公園への入口であるFiskarporten (Fisherman's Gate)。
A tour guide dressed in medieval costume will explain the walls to you. Please check the time and location beforehand. Free.
The meeting place is Fiskarporten (Fisherman's Gate), the entrance to Almedalen Park.
中世レストラン内の工場
中世マーケット
海沿いの公園で中世マーケットが開催されている。中に入るにはお金が必要。ハンドリストを渡されるため、出入りは自由。
A medieval market is held in a park by the sea. You need to pay to enter, but you are given a handlist so you can come and go as you please.
食べ物を売るお店。クレジットカードを使える店が多い。現金のみの店もある。
A food store. Many stores accept credit cards. Some stores only accept cash.
マーケットにはたくさんのお店がある。
There are many shops in the market.
剣、鎧、弓矢などの武具を売る店もある。
There are also shops selling weapons such as swords, armor, and bows and arrows.
ファイアフェスティバル
中世週間の一夜だけ、ファイアフェスティバルが開催される。これも無料。
A fire festival is held for one night only during Medieval Week. This is also free.
廃墟コンサート
教会の廃墟でコンサートが開催されていた。チケットはネットで購入する必要がある。
日本のゲームアニメの歌とのこと。
A concert was being held in the ruins of a church. Tickets had to be purchased online.
It's a song from a Japanese game anime.
教会の廃墟がヴィスビューの特徴の一つだが、コンサートで中に入れるのは魅力的。
One of Visby's defining features is its ruined church, but being able to go inside for a concert is fascinating.
